Berend van den Berg is a distinguished strategic energy project developer with extensive expertise in energy sustainability and transitioning. Fluent in English, Spanish, Dutch, and German, he has made significant global impacts, particularly in methane mitigation and gas monetization. From 2016 to 2020, he served as a senior consultant for the World Bank’s Global Gas Flaring Reduction Partnership, enhancing gas monetization frameworks alongside governments and industry leaders. In 2021, he co-founded Smart Energy, developing innovative gas monetization solutions that substantially reduce environmental impacts. Currently, he is also an Operating Partner at Course 2 Energy, where he continues to drive sustainable energy projects. Berend’s career is marked by his ability to effectively integrate ambitious environmental goals with pragmatic solutions, positioning him as a leader in the global energy sector.
